Introduction

Nuclear and Particle Science is a broad multi-disciplinary field.  Nuclear Science for the purposes of this guide refers to areas of science which involve the nucleus of an atom.  Particle Science in this guide will refer to sub-atomic particles.  This guide will cover the major topics of Nuclear Physics, Nuclear Chemistry, Particle Physics, and Radiochemistry.  While several resources in the Web Sites and TV Programs (Online) sections will be of use for school teachers the majority of this resource is devoted to materials for the undergraduate, graduate student, or professional researcher in this field.  This guide does not cover the topics of Radiochemistry in Medicine, Atomic Chemistry, Nuclear Weapons, or Astrophysics.  Although this guide does not focus on nuclear weapons, many advances in nuclear science can be directly linked to weapons research programs so, some resources are included that demonstrate this historical link.
