The catalog lists videos that depict manned and unmanned space exploration, day-to-day activities of Space Shuttle missions, extravehicular activities, environmental pollution and climate studies, planet fly-bys, and aircraft design, testing, and performance. These materials would be of interest to scientists and engineers, as well as space historians and the general public. The Video Catalog is available online as a PDF and individual videos are available for order.

This project is part of an effort to digitally preserve motion picture materials located at the NASA Langley Research Center. The films provide supplementary material for technical reports produced by both NASA and the National Advisory Committee on Aeronautics (NACA), the predecessor agency to NASA. Others represent project and operations overviews. Low and medium resolution versions of the films are available on the website and copies of the films can be ordered on DVD.
